Nice to know
Wrap yourself in the embrace of a soft hammam towel and relax, it's your towel time!
The large and absorbent Saaren Taika hamam towels are authentic Turkish, centuries-old craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Genuine Turkish cotton has longer fibers than regular cotton. The extra-long cotton fibers of Turkish cotton make the fabric feel really thin and smooth, and yet the towel is more absorbent for its weight than many other materials!
Turkish cotton is often used e.g. in luxury hotels because of its high quality and pleasant feel. Turkish cotton is also more durable compared to other types of cotton and that is why it is very popular in hotel textiles!
Multipurpose hamam towel
The Hamam towel can be used as a bath towel, picnic blanket, scarf, sarong, beach towel, and many other handy everyday textiles!
The Hamam towel is highly absorbent and dries quickly, it is light and takes up little space, so it is perfect for traveling, in a cabin, on a boat, on a backpacking trip or for example for a school student!
It's stylish in the bathroom, at the pool, in spas, on the edge of the sofa, at the beach, when playing sports and wherever! The possibilities for its use are endless! the soft Haman towel is also perfect for baby care.
Wash your towel soft and absorbent
The hamam towel should be pre-washed by soaking it in lukewarm water for a few hours or overnight, so that the long cotton fibers open up and reach their absorbency. Some hamam towels may need a few washes before reaching full absorbency, but that's a good thing, because an authentic Turkish hamam towel only gets better as it wears!
How does a hamam towel differ from a terry towel?
Hamamis are flat hand-woven cotton, while terry is a tufted fabric. Because of this, a terry towel weighs significantly more than a hamam towel. Even though hamams are thin, they are still more absorbent than terry cloth. The absorbency and drying speed of the Hamam towel may surprise the first-timer! The Haman towel also gets better the more you wash it, while the terry towel starts to lose its absorbency from the very first washes, as its "bumps" flatten and harden during washing.
A hammam towel is better for your hair in the long run, because a soft cotton hamam towel wears significantly less hair than a soaked terry towel.
A gently drying hamam towel is also the best option for sensitive skin! The soft hamam towel is really absorbent, so you have to dry yourself significantly less than with a traditional terry towel. In this way, your sensitive skin is saved from excessive "rubbing" and feels better.

Saari Taika Hamam towels are Oeko-Tex certified cotton. Weavers who are skilled with their hands work in good working conditions and there are e.g. insured.
Like all natural materials, cotton and bamboo also shrink somewhat when washed. Our hamam towels may shrink by approx. 10% in the first washes. Please familiarize yourself with the washing instructions for the towel.
