Our Bladderwrack skincare range does not use farmed, intensively produced seaweed, but only uses Bladderwrack naturally released by storms and the sea. We collect it by hand or by diving from the shores of the Bothnian Sea – when nature gives it to us. This means that the availability of the raw material is limited, and production cannot be increased according to demand. This is what makes the range truly unique.

Bladderwrack is a scientifically researched, multifunctional skin care ingredient, especially thanks to its fucoidan, polyphenols, and antioxidants.

• Studies show that fucoidan can prevent UVB-induced collagen breakdown and support the formation of new type I collagen [1], helping to prevent premature aging.

• When applied topically, bladderwrack has been found to increase skin elasticity and thickness [2], strengthening the skin’s structure and making it more resistant to damage and dryness. This is especially important for aging skin, where thinning makes it more prone to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

• In clinical studies, a combination of bladderwrack extract and other seaweed extracts has been found to reduce cellulite and fat deposits, and improve skin elasticity [3].
