Oral rash, or POD, most commonly appears as pimples around the mouth and nose.

The cause of perioral dermatitis is not known for sure, but it belongs to the same group as rosacea , and there are suspicions that it could be related to atopic tendencies or external factors that irritate the skin, such as overly strong cosmetic products.

When suffering from eczema around the mouth, the most important thing is to take care of cleaning and moisturizing the skin of the face.

Use gentle skin care products and do your best to avoid e.g.:

• skin care products containing alcohol
• sulfate-containing products thick moisturizers that can clog pores
• grating peels

This is how you use bar soap on your face:

1. Wet your face with lukewarm water.
2. Wet the cleansing sponge, dab the soap with it, dip the cleansing sponge again and squeeze out the excess water, wipe the face gently all over, avoid getting the soap in the eyes.
3. Rinse with plenty of lukewarm water. Avoid warm water, as it causes the pores to expand.
4. Moisturize your face after washing with face water and moisturizer.
