Our Hamam towels are made of genuine Turkish cotton
Saare Taika hamam towels are made from genuine Turkish cotton, which is longer-staple than regular cotton. The extra-long cotton fibers make the fabric thin and smooth to the touch, yet it is more absorbent than many other materials. This is why Turkish cotton is often used in luxury hotels due to its high quality and pleasant feel.
Responsibly produced hammam towels
Saaren Taika has authentic Turkish hamam towels made with the help of contract manufacturers. We have personally gotten to know and met our partners.
The smaller manufacturers we use are family-run businesses, employing mainly their own family members. Their towels are Oeko-tex certified, and their employees enjoy good working conditions and are insured. The larger factories we work with have undergone numerous inspections and have received Oeko-tex, GRS, GOTS certificates and an Ethical Trade audit report.
These factories employ around 200-300 workers, all of whom are insured. The factories particularly support female workers and, among other things, the tying of towel ends is done exclusively by female workers. All of the contract manufacturers we use are committed to green change and sustainability. Some of the factories have solar panels installed to harness solar energy.
We also manufacture products made from 100% cotton recycled yarns.

A Hammam towel is not just a bath towel. It can also be used as a picnic blanket, scarf, sarong, beach towel and many other convenient everyday textiles. It is highly absorbent and dries quickly, which makes it perfect for traveling, at the cottage, on a boat, on a backpacking trip or for a schoolchild!
Hammam towel vs. terry towel
A hammam towel differs from a terry towel in many ways. Hammam towels are made of flat, hand-woven cotton, while terry is made of a pile fabric. Hammam towels are thin but more absorbent than terry towels. In addition, the absorbency and drying speed of a hammam towel improve the more you wash it, while a terry towel starts to lose its absorbency from the first few washes.
Hammam towels offer soft luxury
A soft hammam towel is gentle on your skin and hair. It is especially suitable for sensitive skin and reduces hair wear compared to a traditional terry towel. By using a hammam towel, you can dry yourself significantly less than with a traditional terry towel, which saves your skin from too much "rubbing" and makes it feel better.
Hamam towel care
It is a good idea to pre-wash your hammam towel by soaking it in lukewarm water for a few hours or overnight to allow the long cotton fibers to open up and reach their full absorbency. Some hammam towels may need several washes before reaching full absorbency, but that is a good thing: a genuine Turkish hammam towel only gets better with age!

Pyyhkeet pesty ohjeen mukaan. Kuivuu ja kuivaa nopeasti ja hyvin, mutta kovin paljon lähtee nukkaa. Siksi 3 tähteä.

Hei. Kiitos arvostelustasi! Nukka on luultavasti peräisin pellavasta, joka tulee kangaspuista, joilla hamam-pyyhkeitä tehdään. Sen irtoamisen pitäisi loppua pesujen ja ajan myötä. Oletko kokeillut käyttää pyykkietikkaa pyyhkeen pesussa? Se ainakin vähentää nukkaantumista! Jotkin pyyhkeet tarvitsevat jopa 10 pesukertaa, jotta pyyhkeen pitkät kuidut asettuvat ja niissä oleva irtokuitu katoaa. Hi! My adult daughter has really bad Psoriasis. I ordered her Chamomile Shea Butter, which I used. I have also used Veera Salt Soap. The picture before use was taken in February. The picture after use is now in March. The spots have lightened and the best thing is that the skin is not tight but elastic and the itching has clearly decreased.
