Biomed's Carnipure® L-carnitine contains the world's highest quality, purest and most researched Carnipure® L-carnitine tartrate manufactured by the Swiss company Lonza as its exclusive source of carnitine.
L-carnitine is an amino acid that functions as part of the body's energy metabolism. Its function in the body is to transport long-chain fatty acids within the cell to the mitochondria, where the fatty acids are broken down as part of the cell's energy production.
The body also produces small amounts of carnitine itself from lysine and methionine. Carnitine is obtained from food, for example, from dairy and meat products.
However, vegans and vegetarians in particular may experience a carnitine deficiency. Various stomach and intestinal challenges may also predispose to carnitine deficiency.

Our founder Johanna's decades-long struggle with skin problems led to the creation of the Saaren Taika brand.
